Thursday, June 9, 2022, marked another milestone to the resumption of normality at the Medway High School with the return of Commencement.
The achievements of over 300 graduates were celebrated. This group was significant for two reasons. Both the principal, Greg Howard, and the graduates started at Medway at the same time. Both had to adapt to the many challenges that the Covid pandemic presented. Both successfully met those challenges.
The resilience, adaptability, patience and understanding of the graduates and their parents was mentioned, as it should have been, in everyone’s messages. They are the first, of many future graduating classes, who will have had to cope with the similar challenges.
The Ilderton & District Lions Club extend our congratulations to not only these graduates but those from 2019/20 and 2020/21 whose achievements in meeting the challenges of the pandemic were not able to be celebrated in person.
Each year, the Club provides a scholarship award to a student who shows betterment of the school and/or community in which they reside, achieves excellence in good citizenship, community involvement, contributes to their school community, and resides in Middlesex County.
This year, Lion Bob Mooder, former Past President, presented the award to Madelyn Cook who has demonstrated all these attributes.
We wish her great success in whatever future path she choses to follow.
