Food Bank Drive 2021

The Ilderton & District and Ilderton Firefighters have once again teamed up for a food drive on November 21, 2021 in support of the Ailsa Craig Food Bank.

Collection bags will be distributed to the homes in Denfield, Birr and Ilderton sometime before the 15th of November.

If you live outside these areas and want to participate, or haven’t received a collection bag by the date stated above, just contact Lion Jim Reeve (519-666-1741).

The demand this year hasn’t changed from last year as families are still coping with the covid fallout.

All non-perishable goods are needed but some are in more demand than others so while you are out shopping if you could pick up some of those listed below, it would be appreciated.

Coffee
Canned fruit (pineapple, peaches, fruit cocktail, etc.)
Canned vegetables
Canned salmon
Canned meats
Condiments (jams, honey, syrup, ketchup, mustard, relish, mayonnaise, etc.)
Jello/pudding mixes
Jello/pudding cups
Juice boxes
Bottled family size juice
Cookies
Crackers (snack and soup crackers)
Granola/cereal bars
Stuffing mix
Instant potatoes
Hamburger helper
Knorr side kicks

Rice
Toiletries/personal care items… we are most in need of shampoos and deodorant for men
Cleaning supplies
Laundry supplies

The Ilderton and District community has been very generous in the past and we hope you will continue to support this very important initiative.

The Ailsa Craig Food Bank relies on this drive for a significant portion of their yearly requirements and you have been instrumental in meeting those needs.

Listen for the fire sirens and come out and welcome the volunteers as they do the collection.

Collections will occur in Denfield and Birr at 11:00 AM and Ilderton starting at 12 :00 noon.

Fill your bag and place it on your front porch before the collection time for your area.

Thank you on behalf of all the volunteers and the Ailsa Craig Food Bank.
