Over the last year, the committee, Thames Valley District School Board and Engineering Consultant have been busy finalizing the design specification, performing site soil tests and developing the tender documents.
The Ilderton and District Lions Clubs have been actively soliciting donations from businesses, other service clubs and individuals as well as holding fundraising events such as golf tournaments.
The good news is that we have collected sufficient funds to proceed with the issuance of the tender for the track replacement and steeple chase/water jump upgrade, scheduled for early March with the hope that we will have shovels in the ground in April/early May timeframe.
To complete the project, which includes new long and triple jump pits and runways and pole vault runways, a high jump apron, and discus area, we will need approximately an additional $200,000.00
