Harvest Food Drive 2017

The kick off of food drive, 2017 has officially began with the labelling of bags. It was held at the Ilderton firehall on Monday, October 30.

As always, the Lions members and the Firefighters were assisted by a great group of Medway students who gave up a few hours of their time to give back to the community. They were Matt Kennedy, Nathan MacKay, Connor Scott, Ben Heessels, Ryan Kane and Alex Marko. Approximately 1240 bags were labelled and assembled by street for the communities of Ilderton, Birr, and Denfield.

Next step is to deliver the bags to the homes in the three communities. This will be done in the next week by the Lions and Firefighters.

A reminder that the drive will be held on Sunday, November 12, starting in Birr and Denfield at 11 AM and in Ilderton, starting at 12 noon approximately.

Have the children out to welcome the fire trucks as they collect from your street.

Please have your contributions at the curbside by the pickup times for your community.

Lets make this one the best yet.

The need is great.

Approximately 12000 pounds of food is distributed every month by the food back.

It would be great if we could collect one months worth at this event.
